Names used by other Mobs for Ngadjuri People

The Ethnonym (the name applied to a Race or Ethnic Group) comes from two words "nadlu" meaning WE and "juri" meaning Man/Men - Hence - WE MEN.
BOANAWARI meaning Bat People which some Eastern Mobs used to describe the Mobs who Practised Circumcision when Men came of Age which was feared by some Mobs.
MANURI a name the Nganguruku People gave the Ngadjuri meaning Big Goanna People.

WIRAMEJU meaning Gum Tree Men (Wira means Gum Tree, Meju means Men). The Kaurna called us the Peppermint Gum Tree People.

So often various Groups or Academics call us First Nations People. Firstly, We are not Canadian as this is where that terminology comes from. Secondly, in the beginning we did not have any knowledge of the concept of a Nation, we were then & still are today hundreds of Mobs with our own Traditional Cultures, Customs and Lands. We are & always will be ABORIGINAL & PROUD! We do not want our Identity diluted, manipulated or defiled by Left Wing Ideologies.
